The ultimate 2020 Review of Sony Xperia 1
The Sony Xperia 1 is an older model, having been launched in mid-2019.
The overall quality of this smartphone is average; since the price is even much higher than that of competitors it is better to choose another model.
The Sony Xperia 1 arrived on the market with Android 9. In the meantime it has received updates and Android 10 is now available. Although a new version has just been released, this version is still fairly recent.
This mobile phone is the new version of the Sony Xperia XZ3, already tested. In comparison, the screen size is larger, the screen resolution is higher, the camera resolution is higher, the processor is faster.
The 6.5″ screen with a resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels is much more pleasant than that of other models and is also very quick to react to commands.
One of the weaknesses of Sony Xperia 1 is the poor battery life: in our usage scenario, its 3330 mAh allows it to reach just 16 hours, which is below average.
The 102 GB of actual available internal memory (128 GB declared) may be enough to store our data, if not, we can use an SD memory card to expand the phone memory.
It suffered some minor damages in the drop test, but passed it well and can therefore be considered quite robust.
Models in this price range are usually very powerful and this phone is no exception: therefore, it can be used without problems even for tasks that require high performance, such as some video games.
Among the most interesting functions are: being dual SIM (two SIM, two numbers, can work simultaneously), the presence of the fingerprint reader and being water resistant.
This model is compatible with 4G connection.
Sony Xperia 1 has three rear cameras (the main is 12 Mp) which allow you to get just enough photos.
This mobile phone has an 8 Mp front camera, which allows you to take poor quality photos, so it is not possible to get good selfies.
- The photos taken with the rear camera are of good quality
- The version of the operating system is quite recent
- You can insert two SIMs at the same time
- It is resistant to immersion in water for short periods
- Battery life is short
- It is one of the most expensive models
- At the same price there are much better models
